Same Beard Different Setting

Here I am, playing some candlepin bowling. Same Urban Amish beard just in a different place.  As one can clearly see the Urban Amish look is quite ubiquitous and useful when going to low-brow establishments such as the bowling alley. I can also blend into Irish neighborhoods.

A Normal Beard

This is how you grow a respectable beard so you don't look like an urban hipster amish fool. Appropriate for work place environment or a night on the town. This beard knows no boundaries. Notice the clear definition between the beard and the mustache.

The Standard Amish

This all started one day while on a trip in Texas when I noticed that I needed to shave, but I forgot my electric shaver at home! The front desk of our hotel had crappy disposable razors and shaving cream, so I tried to shave with a normal blade razor for the first time. I cut my chin pretty bad, it was bleeding, it sucked. I'll never do that again!

After that whole experience I was pretty much anti-shaving except my neck, mustache area, and a little trimming so I don't look like a werewolf.

I looked up my new look in The Hipster Handbook, so apart from not being a new look i found they call it "Urban Amish." It also had this to say:

"Hipsters with the Urban Amish look listen to guitar-driven music and really dig Slayer. It's a useful style for Hipsters who want to pretend they are badass."
